Everything you need to know about She Rips, our courses, and getting started.
Getting Started
Do I need any experience to take the free course?
Not at all! "Just Add Water" is designed for absolute beginners. You don't need to have surfed before, you don't need to be a strong swimmer (though basic swimming is important for safety), and you definitely don't need to be fit. We start from zero.
What equipment do I need before starting?
Nothing! The free course actually covers what gear you'll need and how to get it. Lesson 2 is entirely about choosing your first gear. You can start learning before you buy anything.
I'm scared of the ocean — is surfing really for me?
A healthy respect for the ocean is actually a good thing — it keeps you safe. Our courses include detailed ocean safety content and we teach you how to read conditions before you even get in. Many of our learners started with the same fear and now can't stay out of the water.
Courses & Platform
How long do I have access to a course after purchasing?
Forever! Once you purchase a course, it's yours for life. Watch it once, watch it ten times, come back to it six months later — it's there whenever you need it.
What's the difference between a full course and a mini-tutorial?
Full courses (like "Ocean Smart" and "Rip Into It") are comprehensive, multi-lesson programmes. Mini-tutorials are focused 3-lesson bundles that deep-dive on a specific subject — perfect when you need quick answers on one thing.
How do I access my courses after purchase?
After purchasing, you'll receive a link to access your course. You can watch on any device — phone, tablet, or computer. All you need is a browser and an internet connection.
Is my payment information secure?
Absolutely. All payments are processed through Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. We never see or store your credit card details.
Surfing
What age range are your courses designed for?
There's no age limit on learning to surf! Our courses are designed for adult women of all ages. We've had learners from their early twenties to their sixties. If you want to surf, you're the right age.
I haven't surfed in years — where should I start?
Start with the free "Just Add Water" course as a refresher, then move into "Ocean Smart" for confidence-building or "Rip Into It" if you want to improve your technique. You'll be surprised how quickly it comes back!
